🌸 Peonies 🌸

I’ll never forget it. It was May, 4 years ago, and the sun was going down when we crept up to the looming, vacant house that would soon be sold to us. I liked how the overgrown trees and shrubs seemed to hug the driveway, like you were entering a secret place. I turned around and saw pink peonies in bloom, and I knew right away that this place had “home” potential.

There’s something about peonies. Every time I see them, it’s like I can feel the presence of the men and women who planted them generations ago. Their beauty goes beyond those lush petals.

I have a very hard time cutting them because they make such a show right where they are. It looks like they’re having a good season though, so I did clip some to bring into the kitchen.

I would love to plant even more to sell in bouquets! Dreams 💗
I love this sink dearly. I suspect it was original to the house, as there is a depiction of it in the blueprints.

The irises and roses are blooming also! I’m so thankful every year for these colorful gifts that keep giving.
